The Melbourne Chancellor's Scholarship is awarded to high-achieving students in recognition of their outstanding academic achievement during their Australian Year 12 or International Baccalaureate (IB) undertaken in Australia.

이 장학금은 University of Melbourne의 대표적인 성적 장학금이다. 로컬 학생 가운데 최상위 ATAR 학생들에게 자동으로 제공되는 장학금이다.
지원 대상은 Australian citizen, Australian permanent resident, New Zealand citizen이며 Australian Year 12 또는 호주에서 이수한 IB 학생이 해당된다.
대표적인 성적 기준은 ATAR 약 99.90 이상이다.
이 장학금의 특징은 자동 심사라는 점이다. 학생이 VTAC를 통해 멜번대 학부 과정에 지원하면 별도 장학금 신청 없이 자동으로 평가된다.
제출 서류 역시 별도 장학금 서류는 없다.

Hansen Scholarship은 멜번대에서 가장 큰 장학금 중 하나다. 하지만 Chancellor Scholarship과 달리 자동 심사가 아니라 별도 지원이 필요한 장학금이다.
