호주에서 이름 변경하는 방법

호주 이름 변경 제도 (Change of Name)
호주에서 이름 변경은 각 주의 **Births, Deaths and Marriages Registry (BDM)**라는 정부 기관에서 관리한다.
이 기관은 출생, 사망, 결혼 기록뿐 아니라 이름 변경 등록도 담당한다.
이름 변경이 승인되면 Change of Name Certificate라는 공식 증명서가 발급된다. 이 증명서는 이후 여권, 은행, 학교 등 여러 기관에서 이름을 업데이트할 때 사용된다. 
또한 대부분의 주에서는
• 1년에 1번만 변경 가능
• 평생 최대 3번 변경 가능
같은 제한이 있다. 
아이 영어 이름 추가하는 방법
많은 부모들이 아이 영어 이름을 middle name으로 추가하는 방식을 선택한다.
예를 들어 아이 이름이 **박민수(Park Minsu)**라고 가정해보자.
기존 이름
Park Minsu
영어 이름 Daniel을 추가하면
변경 후 이름
Park Daniel Minsu
이 경우
• Daniel = middle name
• 법적 이름에 영어 이름 포함
이렇게 되면 학교, 병원, 일상 생활에서 영어 이름을 자연스럽게 사용할 수 있다.
호주 이름 변경 신청 절차
주마다 약간 차이는 있지만 일반적인 절차는 비슷하다.
1 신청서 제출
각 주 Births, Deaths and Marriages 웹사이트에서 온라인 신청을 한다.
2 신분 확인 서류 제출
보통 다음 서류가 필요하다.
• 여권
• 운전면허증 또는 Photo ID
• 주소 증명
아이의 경우 부모 또는 법적 보호자가 신청한다.
3 신청 비용 결제
주마다 차이가 있지만 보통
약 $120 ~ $200 정도
이다.
예를 들어 NSW 기준으로
• 성인 이름 변경 약 $195
• 어린이 약 $155
정도다. 
4 Change of Name Certificate 발급
이름 변경이 승인되면 Change of Name Certificate가 발급된다.
